I was cleaning and found these in the back of my closet. I don’t know why I held onto so many little things. Looking back on it now, it’s pretty silly. I don’t want or need these things anymore. Looking through this box of memories doesn’t bring anger, hate, resentment, regret or loss. I’m ready now to let go of the past, so at the night of my grad party, the end of high school will be marked with the burning of my “ex-box”. Every note, poster, drawing, book, mixtape, rose, everything. Every person, past relationship, every victory and every mistake were lessons that helped form me into the person that I am today. I’m grateful for everything, but I don’t need these momentos to show my gratitude. The past will be burnt to ashes and used as fuel for the fire that will light the path ahead. So to all my exs: it’s not personal; and it’s not you, it’s me; but this shits gotta go. #springcleaning

This morning I woke up, put on a dress, did my hair and got ready for Valentine’s Day. But not for a date, and not for the attention. I put on a dress and, with the band, played songs and handed out roses to over seventy girls and guys all over campus. Today we helped make people’s days a bit brighter. I got to experience this with my band mates and I got to see an idea come to life. It was definitely worth the days of headaches, planning and preparing and it was worth every blister.
